  • Reverend Damon Lynch, Jr. is the Pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, a position he has held since 1970

Education:

  • Rev. Lynch received his Bachelor of Science from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1973
  • In 1991, his Masters of Business Administration from the Graduate Theological Foundation at Notre Dame, where he was voted Class Orator
  • In addition, he pursued special studies at the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Hebrew Union College and Thomas Moore College
  • Honorary Doctor of Divinity - Temple Bible College, Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the College of Mt. St. Joseph

  • Heavily involved in the community, Rev. Lynch is the former president of the Baptist Ministers Conference
  • He has been an instructor in preaching at the Athenaeum at Mt. St. Mary Seminary
  • He started the first Martin Luther King March, along with Virginia Coffey, Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth and Charlene Ventura
  • In addition, Rev. Lynch was the first President of the Pastors Conference of Greater Cincinnati
  • He is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center
  • Member of the Medical Review Board of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine
  • A member of the Board of Directors for Gwen Mooney Funeral Home
  • A member of the Board of Directors for the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America
  • A member of the Board of Directors of University Hospital

  • A member of the Board of Trustees for University Hospital
  • He is a former member of the Board of Directors of Housing Opportunities Made Equal

  • Rev. Lynch was awarded the Faith in Action Award by the Council of Christian Communions

Personal - Rev. Lynch and his wife, Barbara have two children: Rev. Damon Lynch, III, (Regina) Pastor of the New Prospect Baptist Church, and Cristal M. Lynch, M.D., three grandsons, Damon IV, Eric Charles and Kenneth Awari, one granddaughter, Mia.
