Cheryl was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She attended Withrow High School, the University of Cincinnati, and Temple Bible College in pursuit of a degree in counseling.  She received a B.A. and an M.A. from the Lord Jesus Christ because she is Born Again and is constantly seeking More Anointing. She is also a PK - a Pastor's kid, and her father is the Pastor of Rescue Temple Church of God in Christ, Elder Ned and Sister Catherine Houston, III.  From a very young child Cheryl has had a calling on her life from the Lord.  Cheryl has cared for several elderly citizens while they were ill and/or recovering from hospitalization.  She would visit those who were sick and shut in.  She has a special concern for young people and the elderly.

Sister Cheryl is enthusiastic, energetic, and extremely happy in working and serving the Lord!  She serves in many capacities at her local church as well as at the district and state level.  She serves on the Nurses' Guild, she's a Sunday School Teacher for the Youth, she's an Aspiring Missionary, she's the Praise Team Leader, she's a Member of the Rescue Temple Board of Trustees, she's the Facilitator of the Nursing Home Ministry, and she has been appointed by the Jurisdictional Bishop to serve as Chairlady of the Youth Department for the State of Ohio, which is a part of the Ohio North West Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ.  When around others, Cheryl's enthusiasm is contagious.  The Lord has anointed her to speak and to encourage others to try walking with God.  Sister Cheryl is prayerful and she diligently studies God's word.

More importantly, Cheryl has served in the secretarial ministry for New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she has been the gate keeper and protector of Pastor and Sister Lynch for over 9 years.

Cheryl's favorite scripture is Psalms 34:1, "I will bless the Lord at all times, and his praises shall continually be in my mouth." At this time please give a warm welcome for Sister Cheryl Houston-Douthitt.
